About Cyntria
Maryland native, Cyntria Monét Vinson began dancing in church at age 7, and it was there that she realized her passion for the arts. Cyntria started her pre-professional dance training at age 14 in the Performing and Visual Arts (PVA) Magnet Program at Annapolis High School in Annapolis, MD. Upon being apart of the first high school class of the PVA magnet program to graduate, Cyntria has trained at various intensives and programs such as Deeply Rooted Dance Theater, Debbie Allen Dance Academy and Dance Creating New Stars (DCNS) Summer Dance Intensive, where she received a full scholarship. She has studied under renowned professionals like Torens Johnson, Ken Skrzesz, Franki Trout, Linda Denise Fisher- Harrell, Vincent Thomas, Catherine Horta-Hayden, Dara Meredith, LaCeda Nelson as well as and guest artists Troy Powell, Ray Mercer, Debbie Allen, Eartha Robinson, Amy Hall Garner, Tommie Waheed Evans, Will B. Bell, Krystal Hall- Glass, and Nicole Clark- Springer. Cyntria specializes in various techniques such as modern, jazz, ballet, lyrical, contemporary, hip hop and musical theater. Cyntria teaches various levels of technique at Empowered Dance Studio in Phoenix, MD and as a guest teacher at multiple public schools in Anne Arundel and Baltimore County. As a choreographer, Cyntria’s work has been performed at many venues including Anne Arundel County Dance Festivals, Annapolis High School Drama Company Productions, Towson University and the Hippodrome Theatre in Baltimore, MD. While at Towson University, Cyntria has been a member and soloist of the Towson University Dance Company for the Spring 2018, 2019 and 2020 seasons. She is a member of the National Dance Education Organization and served as the President of the National Honor Society of Dance Arts at Towson University, where she received her B.F.A in Dance Performance and Choreography in May 2020.
